How much do you know about your rights when traveling? Join Semillas Society and the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy (MIRA) Coalition for a Know Your Rights workshop where you can learn what to do if stopped or questioned by immigration authorities and where to turn for help.

MIRA is the largest immigrant and refugee rights coalition in New England, bringing together over 160 organizations. Their work includes helping immigrants understand their rights and advocating for laws such as the Massachusetts PROTECT Act, passed earlier this year. This is also an opportunity to learn more about MIRA's work and how they support immigrant communities across the state.

This event comes one year after a Babson student was detained while traveling home for Thanksgiving Break. What happened to one of our own reminds us why these conversations matter. We invite all students to join us, ask questions, and learn more about their rights and the resources available to them.

This workshop is part of our First-Generation Week celebration, where we're highlighting the different experiences of first-generation students and bringing conversations that matter to our community.
